Varsity Football Completes Season

The Varsity Football team finished with a 2-6 record on the season after their final three games in October. On the 2nd, they faced the Garden County Eagles, fighting hard but ultimately losing 48-6 to the playoff-bound Eagles. The next week, the Kimball Longhorns traveled to Hyannis to face the superior Longhorns. Hyannis came back from down 6-12 on a pass from Monte Bailey to Liam Kostman to win the game 16 to 12. With a playoff spot on the line, the Longhorns headed to Morrill to face the Lions. The Lions went up early, but the Longhorns mounted a comeback in the second quarter. Unfortunately, the Lions continued to build on their lead, and the Longhorns were unable to win the game and were just short of a playoff berth. The Longhorns will build on this year’s experiences and make a deep playoff run next year.
