Hyannis earned their third win of the season Friday, October 3rd against Cody-Kilgore. It was Hyannis’ big homecoming matchup and very important game for standings in the west division. In the highly anticipated game, the Longhorn defense completely shutout the cowboys with a final score of 51-0. Seniors Payden Ayer and Jeremy Davis led in tackles having 14 each. The Lady Longhorns opened up their volleyball season with a triangular against Hay Springs and McPherson County. Hyannis beat both teams in two sets to complete each match. Coach Ayer said, “ We did a great job setting up our offensive game to get a total of 38 kills for the night.” The scores of the Hyannis / Hay Springs match were 25-14, 25-21. The Saint Edward Beavers fell victim to this year’s Big Blue Wrecking Crew on Friday Sept 5. With a total of 67 tackles, the longhorns completely shutout the beavers 42-0. Gabe Haney lead the ‘horns in total yards with 148 total yards. Payden Ayer and Jeremy Davis both lead the team on defense with 15 tackles each.
